In the early hours of Thursday, June 5, the Tangier Court of Appeals upheld the original verdict issued on March 10, 2025, sentencing anti-normalization activist Redouane El Kastit to two years in prison. The ruling was based on posts he made on his Facebook account. El Kastit was prosecuted on charges of «insulting public officials during their duties» and «insulting an organized body» related to his social media activity. He was arrested on February 5 in Tangier, and on February 8, the public prosecutor at the Tangier Court of First Instance decided to pursue his case while he remained in custody due to the content of his posts.
