The Spanish People's Party (PP), along with left-wing parties, rejected a proposal from the far-right party Vox calling for the suspension of the «Arabic Language and Moroccan Culture Education Program» in Spanish schools, a program supported by the Moroccan government. Vox justified its proposal by claiming the program promotes «Moroccan indoctrination», warning that it threatens to «Islamize Spain» and hampers the integration of foreign-origin students into Spanish culture. The party also argued that this education undermines social cohesion and national identity. The program is based on an agreement between Morocco and Spain, funded by the Hassan II Foundation and coordinated by Spain's Ministry of Education in partnership with staff from the Moroccan embassy in Madrid. Vox alleges that the teachers, who are Moroccan employees selected by Rabat, aim to instill a Moroccan identity among children in the community. The People's Party's refusal to support the proposal drew criticism from Vox, which accused them of contradicting their own conservative rhetoric and lacking a unified stance on what Vox described as «Moroccan cultural infiltration» in the Spanish education system.
