The Moroccan robotics team Robotics For Future, composed of students from 11 January High School in Moulay Yacoub, has won first prize at one of the world's most prestigious robotics competitions, organized by Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) in the United States. The event brought together 108 teams from across the globe. This remarkable achievement underscores the ongoing efforts of the Moulay Yacoub province to promote education, innovation, and youth empowerment. According to an official statement, the victory reflects the commitment of local stakeholders to fostering an environment that encourages creativity, excellence, and technological advancement. Key to the team's success was the establishment of a dedicated robotics lab at their high school, funded with 271,750 dirhams through a program supporting the human development of future generations. An additional initiative, with a total budget of 600,000 dirhams, is set to launch in 2025. The project, carried out in partnership with the Provincial Human Development Committee, the Provincial Directorate of National Education, and the Matrix Association, aims to benefit over 4,000 students. The Robotics For Future team returned to Morocco on the night of June 17 and was welcomed with pride and celebration at Mohammed V International Airport in Casablanca by local authorities. A true model of youth potential, the team exemplifies what young Moroccans can achieve when given the right support. Already recognized multiple times on the international stage, they represent a hopeful future in which Moroccan youth play a leading role in the country's development.
