The second edition of the Morocco Gaming Expo, taking place from July 2 to 6, 2025, at the Rabat Sports Palace, is highlighted by the participation of a French delegation composed of around thirty industry professionals, including representatives from studios, publishers, schools, unions, and professional associations. According to a statement from the French Institute of Morocco, two major French-Moroccan cooperation initiatives in the gaming sector, Video Game Creator (VGC) and Video Game Incubator (VGI), will have their own stands at this flagship African gaming industry event. Supported by Morocco's Ministry of Youth, Culture, and Communication, the French Embassy and Institute, ISART Digital, and LEVEL LINK Partners, the VGC and VGI programs aim to train young Moroccan talent and support the development of emerging studios, the statement explains. Launched in January 2025, the Video Game Creator (VGC) program offers a ten-month certification course combining technical and creative training. Meanwhile, the Video Game Incubator (VGI) program, which began in March 2025, provides tailored support to nine promising Moroccan studios through personalized coaching, targeted training, and access to international industry experts. «The joint presence of the VGC and VGI programs, alongside the French delegation at the Morocco Gaming Expo, perfectly illustrates the unique and strategic nature of the partnership between France and Morocco in the video game sector. It reflects our shared commitment to building a dynamic, innovative ecosystem that offers concrete and lasting opportunities for Moroccan youth», said Agnès Humruzian, Director General of the French Institute of Morocco, as quoted in the statement. The French delegation's participation, featuring key figures from the industry, will give young Moroccan creatives valuable opportunities to explore the latest trends through a wide array of meetings, conferences, and roundtables. This French presence is part of the declaration of intent signed in October 2024 by the culture ministers of both countries during French President Emmanuel Macron's state visit to Morocco. The initiative is supported by the Team France Fund (FEF), a program funded by the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, aimed at strengthening collaboration between Moroccan, French, and global ecosystems in digital innovation, training, and cultural content creation.
