This stance was initially declared during his first term on December 10, 2020. «The United States deeply values our strong and enduring partnership with Morocco. Together, we are advancing shared priorities for peace and security in the region, including by building on the Abraham Accords, combatting terrorism and expanding commercial cooperation that benefits both Americans and Moroccans», wrote the White House occupant. «I look forward to continuing our collaboration to promote regional stability, prosperity and peace», concluded Donald Trump in his message to King Mohammed VI. Since his return to the White House, formalized on January 20, 2025, this marks the first time Trump has officially reiterated his recognition of Morocco's claim over the Sahara.
