Moroccan international Achraf Hakimi has been nominated for the 2025 Ballon d'Or, the prestigious award presented by French magazine France Football to the world's best footballer. The Paris Saint-Germain right-back has made the 30-man shortlist for the first time in his career, according to the extended list released on Thursday. The winner will be announced on September 22. Despite playing in a defensive position, the 26-year-old has showcased remarkable attacking prowess, finishing the 2024–2025 season with a total of 63 appearances, scoring 13 goals and providing 15 assists. Hakimi enjoyed a stellar year with PSG, winning the UEFA Champions League, Ligue 1, the French Cup, and the French Super Cup. He also reached the final of the FIFA Club World Cup, held in the United States.
