Morocco's athletics team won the Arab U18 Championships, which concluded Wednesday in Tunis, after dominating the overall medals table. The Moroccan delegation secured 21 medals (9 gold, 5 silver, and 7 bronze) to claim first place, ahead of host nation Tunisia, which collected 29 medals (8 gold, 9 silver, 12 bronze). Saudi Arabia finished third with 15 medals, including 7 gold. «This well-deserved victory against strong athletics nations is no coincidence. It is the result of the tremendous efforts made by the Royal Moroccan Athletics Federation (FRMA) to promote the sport, particularly through the creation of regional training centers for young athletes», said Boumehdi Nemroud, FRMA board member and head of the Moroccan delegation. Nemroud told MAP that this new generation of athletes carries high hopes for the future, with the potential to proudly represent Morocco at upcoming World Championships and the Olympic Games. The competition, held from August 23 to 27 at the Rades Athletics Stadium, brought together 23 Moroccan athletes — 9 boys and 14 girls.
