Morocco's women's national futsal team has jumped 16 spots to reach 31st place worldwide with 963.37 points, according to the latest FIFA ranking released on Friday. Meanwhile, the men's team continues to hold its position at 6th place globally. FIFA noted that Morocco's women were the most active team in this period, playing 15 matches and achieving the biggest leap in the global standings. The Atlas Lionesses rose from 47th to 31st after winning the Women's Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco and qualifying for the upcoming World Cup. On the continental level, Morocco remains Africa's top-ranked side, followed by Tanzania (82nd), Senegal (83rd, down three places), Cameroon (84th), and Angola (85th). The latest women's futsal ranking also saw the addition of 12 new national teams, reflecting the sport's growing popularity ahead of the first-ever Women's Futsal World Cup, to be hosted by the Philippines this November. Brazil tops the global ranking, followed by Spain and Portugal. This ranking will be used to seed teams for the draw scheduled for September 15. FIFA also highlighted the continued growth in the number of women's futsal member associations, with the ranking now including 92 teams, among them newcomers Canada (74th), Mexico (75th), Panama (79th), Tanzania (82nd), Cameroon (84th), Angola (85th), Egypt (86th), Honduras (88th), Madagascar (89th), Namibia (90th), Guinea (91st), and Cuba (92nd). As for the men's side, the Atlas Lions remain 6th in the world, adding 12.52 points since April to reach a total of 1480.92. Morocco also retains its lead in Africa, ahead of Egypt (36th), Libya (45th), South Africa (50th), and Angola (58th). The top five in the men's ranking remain unchanged: Brazil leads, followed by Portugal, Spain, Argentina, and Iran. Sweden (74th, up 17 places), Moldova (66th, up 14), and Bahrain (69th, up 14) recorded the strongest progress this period.
