The Moroccan-American Commission for Educational and Cultural Exchange (MACECE) and the U.S. Embassy welcomed 22 American Fulbright grantees to Morocco on August 28, 2025, for the 2025-2026 academic year, according to a press release. The cohort includes early-career Fulbright U.S. Student Researchers studying public health, desalination and water security challenges, and resilient built design. Senior Fulbright U.S. Scholars will teach and conduct research on Morocco's emerging creative arts industry, the role of combined military exercises in soft power, and the intersection of soft skills and artificial intelligence. Fulbright English Teaching Assistants will serve as English professors at public institutions in eight Moroccan cities from Tétouan to Agadir. The group also includes participants in the Fulbright Distinguished Awards in Teaching Research Program, K-12 educators undertaking educational research projects in Morocco. The grantees spent their first week in Rabat participating in intensive orientation sessions. They attended a networking reception at the U.S. Embassy to meet Moroccan and American Fulbright alumni, MACECE Board members, and U.S. Mission diplomats. Meanwhile, almost 50 Moroccans departed to the United States on Fulbright scholarships for master's studies, doctoral and senior scholar research, Arabic teaching, and professional development programs.
