The Royal Moroccan Navy, in partnership with the US Navy, held a joint exercise from August 17 to 31 at the port of Casablanca, the Royal Armed Forces announced Monday on social media. The training aimed to «enhance the skills of crews from both nations in hydrographic surveys and technical studies related to port infrastructure». On the sidelines of the exercise, a meeting brought together «civilian and military officials, including US Consul General in Casablanca Marisa Scott, senior officers from the Royal Armed Forces' General Staff, and several senior officers from the US Navy, to review the progress of the joint exercise», the statement added. Over the two weeks, participants carried out a wide range of field activities, including sea outings to conduct precise hydrographic surveys using modern technology, technical diving exercises to inspect and secure port facilities, and training workshops for the crews involved. The exercise concluded with a joint evaluation session. The Royal Armed Forces also recalled that Morocco has been invited to take part in the UNITAS naval exercise, scheduled from September 16 to October 6.
