Morocco's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nasser Bourita, and his Chinese counterpart, Wang Yi, signed a Memorandum of Understanding in Beijing on Friday establishing a Strategic Dialogue mechanism between the two countries' foreign ministries. This new instrument, which enriches the legal framework governing bilateral relations, builds on the Joint Declaration of Strategic Partnership signed in Beijing on May 11, 2016, by King Mohammed VI and Chinese President Xi Jinping. The significance of the MoU lies in its objective to restructure high-level dialogue between Rabat and Beijing, founded on trust, understanding, and mutual respect. It aims to strengthen coordination and communication between the two nations' diplomatic bodies on issues of common interest, at all levels. The establishment of this institutional mechanism marks a new milestone in deepening bilateral ties between Morocco and China, reinforcing their status as strategic partners and further consolidating the historic links between Rabat and Beijing.
