Two Moroccan minors, both 15 years old, were repatriated this week through the Tarajal crossing for burial in Morocco, after drowning while attempting to swim to Ceuta. Their bodies had remained in Spain for weeks due to administrative hurdles that delayed their return, according to El Faro de Ceuta. The Spanish Civil Guard found the victims on September 5 in the waters between Recinto and Sarchal. The two teenagers came from modest families in the Beni Said area, on the outskirts of Oued Laou (Tetouan Province). Since the start of this year, 32 deaths have been recorded, most involving young people who drowned while trying to reach Ceuta either by swimming or in fishing boats. Families often face major difficulties in identifying the bodies or arranging their repatriation.
