Yesterday, the Deputy Public Prosecutor at the Tinghir Court of First Instance ordered the detention of a blogger and Facebook activist at Ouarzazate local prison on defamation charges. The arrest was carried out in Marrakech by the Royal Gendarmerie of Tinghir, acting on a national search warrant issued against him. He was questioned about the complaints filed against him, according to media reports. Available information indicates that the case involves seven defamation complaints. Five complainants attended the confrontation session, including an artist, a cooperative owner, a café owner, a teacher, and another individual, while two others were absent.
