In response to Generation Z protests erupting across several Moroccan cities and beyond, young Moroccans living abroad have initiated a mobilization campaign. Recently, social media platforms have been abuzz with calls for gatherings, urging sit-ins on Saturday, October 4, 2025, in front of the Moroccan embassy in Paris and the kingdom's consulate in Amsterdam. This movement aims to show solidarity with those advocating for improvements in health, education, and the fight against corruption in Morocco. The initiative has garnered support from various Moroccan civil society organizations in Europe, under the banner of the Coordination for Human Rights in Morocco. «A new courageous generation carries the same legitimate demands, in a responsible and peaceful movement», declared a statement from the platform. The platform commends this «youth dynamic» that champions «freedom, dignity, and social justice» in the kingdom. In this vein, the coordination has expressed its condemnation of the arrests that have taken place in several cities, where further gatherings are anticipated this Thursday. Earlier today, the GenZ 212 movement announced the locations and times for its demonstrations, emphasizing their intent to remain «peaceful». In light of violence that occurred on the sidelines of these gatherings, the organizers reiterated their rejection of «any form of riot or destruction against public or private property».
