It's official: Hakim Ziyech is now wearing the colors of Wydad Casablanca. The club made the announcement late Thursday on its social media platforms, captioning the post: «The world waits… the Wizard is here». News of a deal between Ziyech and the Casablanca giants first surfaced on Wednesday, October 22, when sports journalist Fabrizio Romano reported that the free agent had agreed to join Wydad after several approaches. The 32-year-old winger's homecoming follows the early termination of his contract after one season with Qatari club Al-Duhail. Since turning professional in 2015, Ziyech has represented several clubs, including Heerenveen, Twente, and Ajax in the Netherlands, Chelsea in England, and Galatasaray in Turkey. At Wydad, he will reunite with fellow Dutch-born Moroccan international Nordin Amrabat, who joined the Casablanca club earlier this year. On the international stage, Ziyech was part of the Atlas Lions squad that made history at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, becoming the first African and Arab team to reach the semi-finals.
