Strong local gusts of wind, dust storms, and scattered thunderstorms are expected from Wednesday to Thursday across several regions of Morocco, the General Directorate of Meteorology (DGM) announced. According to an orange-level weather alert, wind gusts reaching 70 to 90 km/h, accompanied by dust storms, are forecast from Wednesday at 3 p.m. until Thursday at 11 p.m. in the provinces of Boulemane, Guercif, Taourirt, Jerada, Figuig, Oujda-Angad, Berkane, Nador, Midelt, and Sefrou. These strong winds are also expected on Thursday, from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m., in the provinces of Rehamna, El Jadida, Safi, Sidi Bennour, Youssoufia, Chichaoua, Essaouira, Mohammedia, Marrakech, Casablanca, Mediouna, Nouaceur, Rabat, Salé, Skhirate-Témara, Benslimane, Berrechid, Settat, Khouribga, and Khemisset. Meanwhile, scattered thunderstorms accompanied by gusty winds are forecast from Wednesday at 9 p.m. to Thursday at 9 p.m. in the provinces of Taroudant, Agadir-Ida-Ou-Tanane, Al Haouz, Chichaoua, and Essaouira, the DGM added.
