The non-profit organization Tibu Africa, in collaboration with the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ Morocco), unveiled the groundbreaking «Diaspora Sport Impact» program on Thursday in Casablanca. This pioneering initiative unites Moroccans from across the globe with expatriates residing in Morocco, aiming to channel the power of sports into social entrepreneurship. Backed by German cooperation through the POMIRE project, Potentials of Migration and Social and Economic Reintegration, this program was launched during the 5th Global Sports Entrepreneurship Week, held from November 10 to 14. Its goal is to leverage migration's potential to foster social and economic reintegration, using sports as a catalyst for inclusion, employment, and local development. Rolling out in the Casablanca-Settat and Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima regions, the initial phase of the program seeks to support over thirty direct beneficiaries and engage more than 200 participants through workshops, informational sessions, and networking opportunities with the sports entrepreneurship community. During the launch, Mohamed Amine Zariat, the founding president of Tibu Africa, described the program as a «hub of ideas, energy, and ambitions». Echoing this sentiment, Léo Julien Pagnac, project manager of POMIRE at GIZ Morocco, stated, «We believe in the power of sport to connect paths and territories». He emphasized that through «Diaspora Sport Impact», Moroccan-German cooperation, alongside the Department of Moroccans Residing Abroad (MRE), is transforming sports into a concrete tool for development. The program offers extensive entrepreneurial support through a range of activities, including an entrepreneurial residency, hackathons, competitions focused on women's entrepreneurship, workshops on social impact innovation, mentoring sessions, and visits to sports facilities.
