DR ‹ › Water resources have seen a significant increase in several dams across Morocco, thanks to the recent rains recorded throughout December. According to the daily updated data from the Ministry of Equipment and Water, this trend is also noticeable every 24 hours, as the past few days have been marked by almost daily rainfall. In numbers, the Sidi Mohamed Ben Abdellah dam in the Rabat-Salé-Kénitra region experienced an increase of 19 million cubic meters in its water resources, bringing its fill rate to 84.8%. Over the last 24 hours, the water situation has continuously improved elsewhere as well. In the province of Larache, the Oued El Makhazin dam showed a rise of 11.3 million cubic meters, with a fill rate reaching 82.7%. In the last 24 hours, the Al Wahda dam in the province of Taounate recorded the largest increase in its water resources, now reaching 39.4 million cubic meters, with a fill rate of 45.2%. In the same region, the level of the Idris I dam increased by 13.3 million cubic meters, bringing the fill rate to 36.5%. According to the ministry, these figures reflect the positive impact of recent rains, which help to bolster water reserves and improve the water resource situation in many dams, following seven years of historic drought.
