DR ‹ › Two people died and several others sustained injuries of varying severity on Monday afternoon in a serious traffic accident at the entrance to the city of Essaouira. The crash occurred after the driver of an urban transport bus reportedly lost control of the vehicle due to a sudden technical failure. According to local sources, the bus, which was travelling from the commune of Smimou toward the city center, veered off the road near the Oued Ksob bridge and crashed violently into palm trees. Preliminary reports indicate that one person died at the scene, while another later succumbed to their injuries. Several passengers were also injured, including a young girl in critical condition and the bus driver, who suffered serious injuries. The injured were transferred to the Sidi Mohammed Ben Abdellah Regional Hospital, while the bodies of the deceased were taken to the morgue. Security authorities have opened a judicial investigation under the supervision of the public prosecutor to determine the circumstances of the accident and establish responsibility.
