DR ‹ › Moroccan organizations backing the Palestinian cause have paid tribute, albeit in a fragmented manner, to Abu Obeida, the spokesperson for the Al-Qassam Brigades, who was recently killed by the Israeli army. The Al Adl wal Ihsane movement urged its members to perform the absentee funeral prayer this Friday, January 2. This ceremony took place outside mosques, as depicted in the images shared by the Jamaa on social media. Concurrently, the National Action Group for Palestine staged a sit-in on the same day in front of the Parliament in Rabat. Although this demonstration was sanctioned by local authorities, it witnessed a low turnout from the various factions within the Group, including the PJD and the Unity and Reform Movement (MUR). These actions follow four days after the Palestinian movement Hamas confirmed the death of its military spokesperson in Gaza, who had served since 2002, during an Israeli army raid. Israel had announced the killing of Abu Obeida on August 30 in Gaza. In Morocco, the Palestinian cause struggles to unite Al Adl wal Ihsane and the National Action Group for Palestine.
