The controversy stems from Badda's remarks in which he described Cameroonian player Karl Toko Ekambi as a "legend." This comment provoked outrage among some Algerian netizens, as Ekambi scored the decisive goal that knocked the Fennecs out of the running for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
