DR ‹ › The U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for African Affairs, Bryan J. Ellis, is continuing his official visit to Morocco. On Thursday, he visited a Royal Armed Forces (FAR) air base in Benguerir. During the visit, the U.S. official held discussions with Moroccan officers on «shared priorities in security, regional stability, and ongoing defense cooperation», according to a statement from the U.S. Embassy in Rabat. Earlier, on January 12 in Rabat, Ellis met with Morocco's Minister Delegate in charge of National Defense Administration, Abdellatif Loudiyi, as well as the Inspector General of the Royal Armed Forces, Mohammed Berrid. These meetings are part of preparations for the upcoming Moroccan-American Defense Advisory Committee meeting, scheduled to take place later this year in Washington, with the aim of further strengthening military cooperation between the Royal Armed Forces and the U.S. Armed Forces. By way of reminder, the Inspector of the Moroccan Air Force, Mohammed Gadih, visited the United States last September, where he held several meetings with officials from the U.S. Department of Defense and the State Department.
