DR ‹ › The second edition of the «Video Game Creator» training program was launched on Monday in Rabat, through a partnership bringing together Morocco's Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication, the Embassy of France in Morocco, and the French digital arts school ISART Digital. Designed to support young talent in video game creation, the program offers an accredited nine-month training course, including three months of professional instruction at Rabat's Institute of Audiovisual and Cinema Professions (ISMAC), under the supervision of ISART Digital experts. In a message read on his behalf, Minister Mohamed Mehdi Bensaid described the new edition as «a concrete affirmation of continuity», marking a new phase in the structuring and development of Morocco's cultural and creative industries. He stressed that video games represent «a new frontier of storytelling», extending the long tradition of cinema, theatre, and visual arts, and offering Moroccan youth a platform to project their creativity, culture, and imagination to global audiences. Bensaid also underlined Morocco's ambition, guided by the vision of King Mohammed VI, to make culture and heritage key drivers of development, through bold economic policies and the use of cutting-edge technologies in service of creativity. For his part, France's ambassador to Morocco, Christophe Lecourtier, said the initiative reflects a shared ambition to place digital creation at the heart of bilateral cooperation. He highlighted the video game industry as a strategic sector for economic growth and high-value job creation, noting that the partnership aims to equip young creators to succeed internationally while preserving Morocco's cultural identity. Azad Lusbaronian, ISART Digital's Director of Development, explained that the program is built on «learning by doing», immersing students in real production environments and supporting them on entrepreneurial paths, including the creation of their own studios. The launch ceremony brought together partner institutions, industry experts, and students from across Morocco, representing a new generation of game creators. The program forms part of the Morocco–France declaration of intent signed in October 2024 to support and structure the video game creative ecosystem.
