DR ‹ › Very rough seas and dangerous waves are expected along Morocco's Atlantic and Mediterranean coasts starting Wednesday afternoon, the General Directorate of Meteorology (DGM) announced on Tuesday. According to a maritime weather bulletin issued by the DGM, Atlantic coastlines from Tangier to Agadir will be affected, with wave heights coming from the west to northwest ranging between 6 and 7 meters. The same source also forecasts waves of 4 to 5 meters in the Strait of Gibraltar, and between 3 and 4.5 meters along the Mediterranean coast from Al Hoceima to Saïdia. The highest waves are expected during the night from Wednesday to Thursday. In addition, a period of high tides is forecast for Wednesday and Thursday, with tidal heights between 3 and 3.5 meters along the Atlantic coast, the DGM said. Strong to locally very strong wind gusts, blowing from the west to southwest, are also expected from Wednesday, affecting the Atlantic coast from Tangier to Safi, as well as the Strait of Gibraltar and the Mediterranean coastline. Weather conditions are expected to gradually improve from Friday onward, the DGM added.
