DR ‹ › On Thursday, the Greater Amman Municipality and the city of Rabat formalized a twinning and cooperation agreement in the Jordanian capital, aiming to foster sustainable urban development across both cities. This landmark agreement was signed by Youssef Al-Chawarbah, Chairman of the Greater Amman Municipality Committee, and Fatiha El Moudni, President of Rabat's City Council. It aims to strengthen cooperation in areas such as the exchange of expertise, sustainable urban development, municipal services, and the preservation of cultural heritage. The signing ceremony was attended by Morocco's Ambassador to Jordan, Fouad Akhrif, along with a delegation from Rabat and senior officials from Greater Amman. The agreement covers a wide range of initiatives, including exchange visits, capacity building in urban planning and land management, and the development of sustainable infrastructure. It also highlights the importance of promoting energy efficiency and expanding the use of renewable energy. Other key areas of cooperation include environmental protection, climate change mitigation, waste management and recycling, and the promotion of green and sustainable infrastructure, as well as urban beautification projects. In addition, the agreement provides for collaboration on public transport development and eco-friendly mobility, the organization of joint cultural, artistic, and youth-oriented events, and the protection and enhancement of architectural and historical heritage. During the ceremony, Fatiha El Moudni emphasized Rabat's experience in urban planning, infrastructure development, environmental management, sustainable development, and urban transport. The Moroccan delegation is scheduled to tour several urban, environmental, and cultural facilities and institutions over the course of a five-day visit.
