The Halal Standards Committee of the Central Religious Administration of Muslims of Tatarstan, a federal entity in Russia, plans to obtain accreditation in Morocco and several other countries to recognize the halal certificates it issues. This accreditation will enable the committee to begin exporting halal products to those countries. In media statements, the committee's chairman, Abbas Shlyaposhnikov, explained, «We have submitted applications to all these countries. We have an accelerated action plan for this year, and we are moving forward with confidence and determination in this direction». Shlyaposhnikov also reported that the committee recently received accreditation from the Islamic Development Department in Malaysia in March. He noted that representatives from the department are expected to attend the «Russia - Islamic World» forum, which serves as a key platform for the «Halal» Committee. The committee, responsible for conformity assessment, issuing compliance certificates, and voluntary certifications, uses the forum to connect with companies worldwide, both within Russia and internationally. Shlyaposhnikov emphasized that the forum is an important meeting point for Russian regions and foreign countries that are members of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, which includes more than 50 countries. He added, «This platform brings together representatives from all these countries, allowing us to open direct communication channels and expand our cooperation network». Last year, the «Halal» Committee of Tatarstan received accreditation from the Gulf Accreditation Center. In Tatarstan, 250 companies produce halal products, and exports of these products are expected to see a significant increase in 2025. According to the Ministry of Agriculture of Tatarstan, the future export plan is estimated at around 15 million dollars.
