The Ain Sebaa Criminal Court in Casablanca delivered its verdict on Wednesday evening in the case involving the family of YMoroccan YouTuber Hicham Jerando. The court handed Jerando's sister a two-month suspended prison sentence and a fine, while her husband was sentenced to two years in prison and a fine. Their son received a three-year prison sentence, also accompanied by a fine. Four other individuals connected to the case were also convicted. Two were sentenced to three years in prison, one received a two-year sentence, and another was sentenced to one year in prison. The public prosecutor charged the defendants with several offenses, including participating in the dissemination and circulation of false information intended to invade privacy, defamation, and making threats, considered a misdemeanor. This case was launched after a citizen filed a complaint stating that she and her family had been subjected to threats, defamation, and extortion by an organized group. The case made headlines in March as it involves members of Jerando's family, including his 15-year-old niece.
