Dounia Batma has finally embraced freedom. The Moroccan singer was released from the Oudaya local prison in Marrakech this morning, having completed her sentence related to the notorious «Hamza Mon Bebe» case. Batma was initially detained on January 31, 2024. The Marrakech Court of Appeals sentenced her to one year in prison and imposed a fine of 10,000 dirhams. The charges against her included «participation in accessing an automated data processing system through fraudulent means, deliberately obstructing its operation, causing disruption, and altering its processing methods». Additionally, she was accused of «broadcasting and distributing statements and images of individuals without their consent via information systems, disseminating false information to harm individuals' private lives for the purpose of defamation, and participating in such activities, including making threats».
