On Thursday morning, a foreign tourist was seriously injured after being assaulted in the face by a man in his thirties who reportedly suffers from mental issues. Police intervened and were forced to use their service weapon to stop the attacker, shooting him in the leg. The suspect was taken to the emergency unit at Mohammed VI Hospital, while the injured tourist was transferred to a private clinic for medical treatment, accoridng to local reports. The incident prompted a swift response from security forces, including the heads of the first security district and urban authority, the commander of the Gueliz district, members of the scientific and technical police, and auxiliary forces.
