Dutch second-division side FC Emmen has signed Moroccan youth international Juliën Mesbahi on a one-season loan from FC Twente. The 19-year-old defender will join Menno van Dam's squad with immediate effect. According to RTV Drenthe, technical director Nico Haak described Mesbahi as «a talented player with a lot of dynamism in his game». The club hopes the loan move will increase competition in their defensive line while providing the young player with further development opportunities. Mesbahi, primarily a central defender who can also operate at right-back, progressed through FC Twente's youth academy from the Under-15 level. He made his Eredivisie debut during the 2023/2024 season. The Moroccan international becomes FC Emmen's third summer acquisition, following the signings of Nelson Amadin from Austrian club TSV Hartberg and Danish player Christian Østergaard from Randers FC.
