Morocco welcomed 8.9 million tourists in the first half of 2025, a 19% increase compared to the same period in 2024, an additional 1.4 million visitors, according to the Ministry of Tourism, Handicrafts, and Social and Solidarity Economy. This strong performance confirms the ongoing upward trend and reinforces Morocco's standing as a top travel destination, offering encouraging prospects for the remainder of the year, the ministry said in a press release. June alone saw 1.7 million arrivals, an 11% increase from June 2024, making it the best-performing June on record, the statement noted. The ministry added that this strong start to the summer season is expected to further bolster growth, as the summer months traditionally mark a peak in tourism activity. «These results confirm Morocco's growing appeal and our ability to attract more and more visitors», said Fatim-Zahra Ammor, Minister of Tourism, Handicrafts, and Social and Solidarity Economy. «As we enter the second half of the year, we are focused on two priorities: enhancing air connectivity and accelerating the development of accommodation and entertainment offerings to meet the expectations of an increasingly discerning clientele», she added.
