As Morocco continues to attract Dutch holidaymakers, the Dutch Embassy in Rabat is urging travelers, especially families, to ensure their children are vaccinated against measles before visiting the Kingdom this summer. In an update published Wednesday, the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs warned of an ongoing measles outbreak in Morocco, prompting health authorities to recommend timely immunization for children. «Arrange a measles vaccination for your child in time and travel with a valid passport», advised Maria Argoubi, Senior Consular Affairs Officer, in a statement highlighting key precautions for Dutch travelers. While Morocco remains a safe and welcoming destination, the embassy encourages tourists to consult the latest Dutch travel advisory and visit the National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM) and the National Coordination Centre for Travel Advice (LCR) websites for updated health guidelines, particularly regarding measles. It is worth noting that Morocco has seen a rise in measles cases in recent months, prompting local vaccination campaigns to curb the spread. In the Netherlands, many of the measles cases reported among children were linked to travel to Morocco or diagnosed shortly after returning from holidays there.
