Less than a week after the march organized by residents of Aït Bouguemez, dozens of villagers from Tikine, Toufnarar, and el Moudda in the commune of Agoudi N'lkhir (Azilal province) staged a protest march on Monday. They walked to the provincial headquarters to demand the resumption of long-stalled roadworks linking Agoudi N'lkhir to the neighboring commune of Ait Mazigh—works that have been on hold for over a year and a half. Protesters say the road, which has just 7 kilometers left to complete, is their only link to surrounding areas. They blame the delay on contractors who, they allege, abandoned the project due to non-payment. Residents explain that the road serves three main villages, and their suffering worsens during the winter months when the road becomes impassable. This severely affects access to education and healthcare. School transport services stop at the end of the paved section, forcing children to either walk long distances or ride animals. Sick or injured people, they say, often have to be carried on shoulders to reach help. Shortly after the march began, the governor of Azilal province, Hassan Benkhayi, visited the site where work had stalled. During the visit, he listened to the villagers' concerns and pledged that construction would resume by next Monday.
