A Scottish crime boss who was arrested in Morocco in July 2024 has pleaded guilty to directing a multi-million-pound drug trafficking network, The Scottish Sun reported on Wednesday. The 32-year-old fugitive was extradited to the UK in January 2025 and appeared this week before the High Court in Glasgow, where he admitted to leading a Moray-based gang that trafficked cocaine, heroin, and cannabis between Scotland and England from 2019 to 2022. McGregor had fled to Spain before being traced to Morocco, where he was detained after European law enforcement cracked the encrypted messaging system EncroChat. Prosecutors revealed he had boasted of selling 10 kilos of cocaine per month and making nearly £1 million from cannabis in just five months. Sentencing has been deferred until next month at the High Court in Edinburgh. McGregor remains in custody.
