CAF's Disciplinary Board has sanctioned both Morocco and Kenya following their CHAN 2024 match at Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani. The game, played on Sunday, August 10, saw Morocco lose 0–1 to Kenya. In a press release issued Wednesday, CAF announced that the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) was fined USD 5,000, half of which is suspended, for what it described as the «inappropriate conduct» of its players during the match. The suspended portion will be waived only if no similar offence occurs for the remainder of the tournament, CAF warned. Kenya, a co-host of CHAN 2024, was fined USD 50,000 for multiple safety and security breaches, during the same game, including insufficient personnel within the stadium perimeter and failure to implement road closures on match day. CAF warned that «continued failure to meet safety and security requirements may lead to the relocation of Kenya's national team matches to an alternative venue». Both federations have 60 days from notification to pay their fines.
