Morocco is set to be represented by six athletes at the 2025 World Para Athletics Championships, taking place from September 27 to October 5 in New Delhi, India. Their mission is to proudly fly the national flag and compete against the world's finest. The national team includes some standout athletes, such as double Paralympic medalist Aymane El Haddaoui, who will compete in the T47 category for the 100m and 400m events. El Haddaoui gained international acclaim at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games by clinching gold in the 400m with a new world record and securing bronze in the 100m. Sprinter Mahdi Afri will also represent Morocco in the T12 category, participating in both the 100m and 400m events. Meanwhile, sisters Hayat and Ibtissame El Garaa will compete in the F41 category, participating in shot put and discus throw events. Zakariae Ez-Zouhri will represent the country in the F44 category for the javelin throw. Zakaria Derhem will compete in the F33 category for seated shot put, having previously won a bronze medal at the Paris Paralympic Games. In a statement to MAP, Kenza Aouad, Vice-President of the Royal Moroccan Federation of Sports for People with Disabilities (FRMSPSH) and head of the national delegation, stressed that the aim is not only to win medals but also to convey a message of inclusion, resilience, and belief in the athletes' capabilities to compete at the highest level. «We firmly believe that sporting performance must go hand in hand with strong human values. Every international participation is also an opportunity to remind the world that sport is a vehicle for integration, solidarity, and dignity,» she added. The championship will bring together over 1,000 athletes from across the globe, competing in 186 medal events (101 men's, 84 women's, and one mixed), which is 15 more than the previous edition held in Kobe, Japan, in 2024. This marks the 12th edition of the World Para Athletics Championships, the largest para-sport event ever organized in India. Asia is hosting these championships for the fourth time, following Doha (2015), Dubai (2019), and Kobe (2024). The Moroccan delegation also includes Najoua Bounou, a doctor, Rachid Benzekri, a physiotherapist, and four coaches: Khadija Faiz, Abdelaziz Zedmout, Abdelouahab Lakhdar, and Mohamed Maouhoub.
