Syensqo and University Mohammed VI Polytechnic signed a partnership agreement on October 21, establishing a joint artificial intelligence laboratory at the UM6P campus in Benguerir. The facility will focus on developing AI technologies for chemistry and materials science with industrial and environmental applications. The Syensqo AI Lab will operate within UM6P's AI-ARC (Accelerated Research Center), targeting the development of agentic AI technologies for advanced materials and generative AI systems. Syensqo has inaugurated a dedicated office on campus to facilitate direct collaboration between its engineers and UM6P researchers and students. The partnership encompasses three core domains: artificial intelligence, advanced materials, and sustainability. It extends beyond research to include executive training and student development programs. Ilham Kadri, Syensqo's CEO, stated that the lab aims to accelerate innovation and create solutions with tangible impact. UM6P President Hicham El Habti emphasized transforming laboratory discoveries into practical technologies that enhance efficiency and reduce environmental impact. Syensqo is a science company with over 13,000 employees across 30 countries, specializing in advanced materials for the aerospace, automotive, and healthcare sectors. Both institutions previously collaborated as co-partners in Climate Impulse, developing hydrogen-powered aircraft technology.
