Funds transfers from Moroccans living abroad (MRE) have reached 92.73 billion dirhams by the end of September, marking a slight increase from the 91.72 billion dirhams recorded during the same period last year, as reported by the Office des Changes. The Office's latest bulletin on monthly foreign trade indicators highlights a 1.1% year-on-year rise in these remittances. Furthermore, the bulletin indicates a 17.7% surge in the trade deficit, which has now surpassed 259 billion dirhams. This is attributed to a 9.2% increase in imports, reaching over 605.35 billion dirhams, and a 3.6% growth in exports, which now stand at approximately 346.3 billion dirhams. On the other hand, the services balance shows a surplus, with a 9.4% rise to over 114.52 billion dirhams, driven by a 9% increase in imports and a 9.2% increase in exports.
