Morocco welcomed a remarkable 16.6 million tourists in the first ten months of 2025, marking a 14% surge compared to the same period last year, announced Fatim-Zahra Ammor, the Minister of Tourism, Handicrafts, and Social and Solidarity Economy, on Friday in Casablanca. This impressive growth underscores the exceptional momentum within the sector, fueled by the tourism roadmap initiated in 2023 and the increasing confidence of both national and international investors, noted Ammor during the signing ceremony of a letter of intent between the Alliances Group and Rixos Hotels. Morocco, she continued, has ascended among the 20 most dynamic destinations globally, now ranking 13th worldwide, according to UN Tourism rankings. Since 2023, the kingdom has added 43,000 new beds, significantly boosting its accommodation capacity, the minister stated. In this context, she applauded the strategic partnership between the Alliances Group and Rixos Hotels, which introduces the Luxury All-Inclusive concept to Morocco. This offers an immersive and high-end experience from a global leader in festive hospitality. This ambitious project, with an investment of approximately 1.5 billion dirhams (MMDH), is set to create thousands of direct and indirect jobs, showcasing the synergy between international expertise and Moroccan know-how. The ceremony, attended by Imad Barrakad, Director General of the Moroccan Society of Tourism Engineering (SMIT), also highlighted three major tourism projects: Rixos Marrakech (26 hectares, 400 rooms, and 60 villas), Aliée Marrakech (14 hectares, 150 rooms, and 50 villas), and Rixos Lixus - Larache (7.5 hectares, 400 rooms). This collaboration aligns with Morocco's ambition to bolster its international appeal and enhance a premium, family-friendly, and experiential offering, particularly in anticipation of the 2030 World Cup.
