The Board of Directors of the Moroccan National Tourist Office (ONMT) met in Rabat under the chairmanship of Fatim-Zahra Ammor, Minister of Tourism, Handicrafts, and the Social and Solidarity Economy. The meeting highlighted the record-breaking results and remarkable growth of the tourism sector, confirming the effectiveness of the 2023–2026 tourism roadmap. In 2024, Morocco welcomed 17.4 million tourists. By the end of May 2025, border arrivals had increased by 22% compared to the same period last year, while tourist overnight stays rose by 17%. The goal is to attract 26 million tourists by 2030, with a focus on infrastructure development, service quality improvements, and enhanced air connectivity. The «World Class Marketing» strategy was ramped up in 2024, with new destinations added under the Morocco, Land of Light brand and large-scale campaigns launched in key international markets. Domestic tourism was also reinforced through strategic partnerships, including one with the National Railway Office (ONCF). In terms of air travel, the sector saw a 25% increase in seat capacity within a year, the opening of new long-haul routes, and the establishment of new airline bases across Morocco. The «Air x2» strategy aims to exceed 13 million available seats by 2025. This year's priorities include consolidating achievements, fostering regional integration, diversifying source markets, and expanding air routes. Morocco now ranks among the top ten most mentioned destinations by international tourists. The roadmap for the second half of 2025 includes launching the Morocco, Land of Football campaign in partnership with the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF), ahead of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (CAN). It also involves developing regional experiential offerings and organizing over 40 national events. The board approved the minutes of the December 23, 2024 meeting, the financial statements as of December 31, 2024, and the action plan for the second half of 2025, along with major strategic projects for ONMT and Destination Morocco.
