DR ‹ › The Royal Army Club (AS FAR) has announced that the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has issued disciplinary sanctions following incidents that occurred during the club's match against Al Ahly on November 28, 2025, during the CAF Champions League. The match was marked by supporters throwing water bottles and other solid objects onto the pitch. In its ruling, the CAF Disciplinary Committee found the Moroccan club in breach of Articles 82 and 83 of the CAF Disciplinary Code, as well as Article 32 of the Safety and Security Regulations, citing inappropriate spectator behavior that undermined sportsmanship and threatened the safety and integrity of the competition. As a result, Royal Army Club will be required to play their next two home matches in African club competitions behind closed doors, without spectators. CAF also imposed four financial penalties on the club. A $20,000 fine was issued for the use of laser devices, a $15,000 fine for throwing water bottles, and another $15,000 fine for ball boys introducing multiple balls onto the field during play, an act deemed contrary to the principles of fair play and competition integrity. A further $50,000 fine was imposed for the throwing of a dangerous iron object, which posed a serious risk to the safety of players and match officials. CAF stated that the total amount of fines reaches $100,000, which must be paid within two months of the club being officially notified of the decision.
