DR ‹ › On Thursday, Morocco's Amine Tehraoui, Minister of Health and Social Protection, inaugurated the services of the Regional Hospital Center of Fquih Ben Salah, along with 14 health centers in the Azilal Province. Built on a site covering more than three hectares, with over 13,000 square meters of covered space, the regional hospital represents a total investment of 553 million dirhams. With a capacity of 250 beds, the facility includes reception and consultation areas, an intensive care and resuscitation unit, a mother-and-child unit, a day hospitalization unit, an emergency department, a radiology service, a medical laboratory, as well as administrative and sanitary facilities. To reinforce emergency response capacity, a medical ambulance was also provided through the National Initiative for Human Development (INDH). In a statement to Maghreb Arabe Presse (MAP), Minister Tehraoui said the hospital currently employs 277 healthcare professionals, including 45 doctors—41 of them specialists—alongside 180 nurses and health technicians, and 51 administrative and technical staff, serving a population of nearly 475,000 residents. In Azilal Province, the minister also inaugurated the second-level rural health center in Aït Attab, as well as 13 additional urban and rural health facilities. These include a second-level rural health center with nearby emergency services in Ouaouizeghth, and two other second-level rural health centers in Tabarouch and Aït Tamlil. The launch further covered three first-level rural health centers—Sgatt, Tirste (Beni Hassan), and Aït Mazigh—as well as five rural dispensaries located in Ifrane, Igmir, Aït Taguella, Aït Smail, and Draa. It also included the Demnate Israne first-level urban health center, a tuberculosis and respiratory diseases diagnostic center, and the first-level urban health center in Nouveau Quartier. According to Minister Tehraoui, the newly inaugurated health facilities in Azilal Province will enhance healthcare services for 120,882 residents.
