DR ‹ › The French maritime transport company La Méridionale has canceled two passenger and vehicle ferry services between Marseille and the Port of Tanger Med, citing severe weather conditions deemed unsuitable for safe navigation. According to media reports, the canceled crossings were scheduled for Thursday, December 25, 2025, from Marseille to Tanger Med, and Saturday, December 27, 2025, from Tanger Med to Marseille. The company plans to resume services on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, departing from Tanger Med. La Méridionale said the decision was taken to ensure the safety of passengers, their vehicles, and crew, in line with maritime safety standards and best navigation practices. The cancellations affected 236 passengers on Thursday's crossing and 238 passengers on Saturday's return trip. To assist affected travelers, the company offered several commercial options, including free rescheduling to a later date subject to availability, cancellation with a €50 credit, or cancellation with a full refund. Regarding passenger follow-up, the company said 100% of passengers booked on Thursday's crossing have been informed, with 90% of cases fully processed. All passengers scheduled for Saturday's crossing have also been notified, with around 70% of cases processed so far, and the remaining requests currently being handled.
