DR ‹ › Heavy rain, snowfall, and occasionally very strong gusts of wind are expected on Friday and Saturday across several provinces of the Morocco, announced the General Directorate of Meteorology (DGM) in a weather alert bulletin. Particularly heavy rainfall, ranging from 80 to 120 mm, will mainly affect mountainous areas from Friday at 5 PM to Saturday at 6 PM. The provinces of Agadir Ida-Outanane, Taroudant, and Essaouira are under a red alert warning. The DGM also forecasts fairly heavy rain, with accumulations between 30 and 45 mm over the same period, in the provinces of Safi, Sidi Bennour, El Jadida, Chtouka Aït Baha, Inezgane-Aït Melloul, Tiznit, Chichaoua, Al Haouz, and Youssoufia. These regions are on orange alert. Furthermore, snowfall is expected above 1,600 meters in altitude, with depths ranging from 10 to 30 cm, from midnight to 6 PM on Saturday. The provinces of Midelt, Tinghir, Azilal, Ouarzazate, Al Haouz, Taroudant, and Chichaoua are affected. Finally, strong to locally very strong winds will blow on Friday, with gusts reaching 95 to 105 km/h in the provinces of Al Haouz and Chichaoua. Wind speeds of 90 to 100 km/h are expected in El Jadida, Sidi Bennour, Safi, Essaouira, Midelt, and Azilal, while winds of 75 to 90 km/h will notably impact Youssoufia, Figuig, Jerada, Oujda-Angad, Taourirt, El Kelaâ des Sraghna, Marrakech, Rehamna, Agadir Ida-Outanane, and Taroudant.
