DR ‹ › The General Directorate of Meteorology (DGM) has issued a warning for severe weather conditions expected across various regions of Morocco from Thursday through Sunday. The forecast includes thunderstorms, hail, strong winds, snowfall, and a notable drop in temperatures. On Friday, from 1:00 AM to 12:00 PM, the provinces of Kénitra, Salé, Rabat, Larache, and Tangier-Assilah are bracing for intense thunderstorms accompanied by hail and sporadic strong winds, with rainfall expected to measure between 25 and 35 mm. This alert has been classified at an orange level by the DGM. Saturday will see a continuation of these severe weather patterns, with rainfall amounts predicted to reach between 40 and 60 mm in the provinces of Agadir-Ida-Ou-Tanane, Chtouka-Aït Baha, Inezgane-Aït Melloul, Taroudant, Tiznit, Essaouira, El Jadida, Safi, and Sidi Bennour. Additionally, the provinces of Mohammedia, Benslimane, Berrechid, Settat, Chichaoua, Rehamna, Casablanca, Mediouna, Nouaceur, and Youssoufia are expected to receive between 20 and 40 mm of rainfall. Snowfall is also in the forecast, with accumulations of 10 to 25 cm anticipated above 1,500 meters on Thursday from 1:00 PM to 11:00 PM in Midelt, Boulemane, Sefrou, Ifrane, Al Haouz, Azilal, Ouarzazate, Al Hoceima, Taza, Taroudant, Chichaoua, Béni Mellal, Khénifra, Guercif, and Tinghir. The snowy conditions will persist from Saturday at 1:00 AM to Sunday at 11:00 PM, with snow depths ranging from 10 to 35 cm expected in Azilal, Béni Mellal, Ifrane, Sefrou, Boulemane, Al Hoceima, Ouarzazate, Taroudant, Tinghir, Al Haouz, Chichaoua, Khénifra, and Midelt. Moreover, strong winds, reaching speeds of 75 to 85 km/h, are forecast for Saturday from 1:00 AM to 12:00 PM in the provinces of Safi, Chichaoua, Sidi Bennour, Essaouira, and El Jadida. Finally, a cold snap is expected, with temperatures plunging to between -7°C and -3°C from Thursday to Sunday in the provinces of Midelt, Boulemane, Tinghir, Azilal, Chichaoua, Ouarzazate, Al Haouz, Taroudant, and Ifrane.
