DR ‹ › Severe thunderstorms accompanied by hail and sporadic wind gusts, snowfall, strong winds, and cold weather are forecast from Saturday through Monday across several provinces of the Kingdom, according to Morocco's General Directorate of Meteorology (DGM). Heavy thundery showers (40–55 mm), with hail and occasional strong wind gusts, are expected from Saturday at 11:00 a.m. to Sunday at 12:00 p.m. in the provinces of Taroudant, Chtouka Ait Baha, Essaouira, Agadir-Ida-Ou-Tanane, and Inezgane-Ait Melloul, the DGM said in an orange-level weather alert. The same weather conditions, with rainfall totals ranging between 25 and 40 mm, are forecast for the provinces of Al Haouz, Azilal, Settat, El Jadida, Safi, Sidi Bennour, Youssoufia, Beni Mellal, Tiznit, Chichaoua, Mohammadia, Khénifra, Fquih Ben Salah, Khouribga, Rabat, Khemisset, Casablanca, Mediouna, Berrechid, Benslimane, Skhirate-Temara, Marrakech, Rehamna, Salé, El Kelaa des Sraghna, and Nouaceur. Rainfall amounts of between 40 and 70 mm are also expected in the provinces of Larache, Fahs-Anjra, Taounate, Al Hoceima, Sidi Slimane, Sidi Kacem, Kénitra, Chefchaouen, M'Diq-Fnideq, Tetouan, Tangier-Assilah, and Ouezzane, from Saturday at 3:00 p.m. until Sunday at 11:00 p.m. Snowfall is also forecast at elevations above 1,500 meters, with accumulations ranging from 10 to 30 cm, from Saturday at 12:00 p.m. until Monday at 6:00 a.m. in the provinces of Azilal, Midelt, Ouarzazate, Ifrane, Al Haouz, Boulemane, Khénifra, Chichaoua, Taroudant, Chefchaouen, Al Hoceima, Beni Mellal, and Tinghir. In addition, strong wind gusts of 75 to 85 km/h are expected on Sunday between 10:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. in the provinces of Midelt, Kénitra, Tangier-Assilah, Ouezzane, Larache, Chefchaouen, Sidi Slimane, and Sidi Kacem. Cold weather is also forecast, with temperatures ranging between -7°C and -3°C on Saturday and Sunday in the provinces of Midelt, Boulemane, Tinghir, Azilal, Chichaoua, Ouarzazate, Al Haouz, Taroudant, and Ifrane.
