DR ‹ › The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has responded to the controversy sparked by the Senegalese Football Federation (FSF) on the eve of the 2025 AFCON final. Beyond the public complaints over logistics and security, the continental body issued a measured response, offering a diplomatic reminder of both the facts and the regulations in place. CAF reiterated a basic principle: all teams competing in the tournament have been subject to the same conditions. Senegal, like every other delegation, was free to choose its accommodation. Its request to change training facilities was processed promptly, with the Local Organizing Committee immediately granting the alternative venue. The same applies to ticketing, with the full regulatory quota stipulated by CAF rules duly allocated to the FSF. More significantly, CAF underlined that communication with FSF president Abdoulaye Fall has remained regular, direct, and uninterrupted throughout the competition. Institutional channels, the confederation stressed, were never compromised. In that context, the decision to take these concerns into the public arena inevitably raises questions about timing and intent.
