DR ‹ › The Morocco 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), set to kick off on December 21, is continuing to break records. Beyond record-breaking ticket sales, this edition has also secured a record 20 media rights partnerships across more than 30 European territories, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) announced on Thursday. AFCON 2025 will benefit from unprecedented broadcast reach, allowing millions of viewers across Europe, particularly within Africa's diaspora, to follow the tournament live. Among the highlights, CAF confirmed a landmark agreement with Channel 4 in the United Kingdom, marking the first time all 52 AFCON matches will be broadcast free-to-air in the UK. In Spain, a new deal with Movistar is expected to significantly boost viewership, notably given the country's strong Moroccan diaspora and deep footballing ties with North Africa. CAF has also expanded free-to-air access in other markets, securing agreements with ERT in Greece and VGTV in Norway, where the tournament will be broadcast free-to-air for the first time. Existing partners such as Sport Italia and Ziggo Sport are expected to build on strong audiences recorded during previous AFCON editions in Italy and the Netherlands, while SportDigital will continue broadcasting the tournament across the DACH region (Germany, Austria, and Switzerland). The agreements were concluded in partnership with IMG, CAF's international media rights and sponsorship agency. The AFCON 2025 will feature 24 teams, 52 matches, and will be played across nine stadiums in Morocco.
