DR ‹ › The Ministry of Interior has confirmed that the supply of essential goods across national markets remains stable and reassuring. Available stocks, along with projected production in the coming weeks, are sufficient to meet consumption needs during the holy month of Ramadan 1447 AH and beyond. The ministry also emphasized that monitoring efforts are ongoing to curb price manipulation and speculative practices. This statement followed a meeting of the Joint Ministerial Committee for Vigilance and Monitoring of Market Supply and Prices, held on Thursday at the Ministry of Interior's headquarters as part of preparations for Ramadan. In a communiqué, the ministry explained that data provided by the relevant sectors and institutions indicate stable supply conditions, thanks to proactive measures taken in coordination with economic operators, particularly for products that see increased demand during Ramadan. The meeting also highlighted the positive impact of recent rainfall on agricultural productivity and livestock output, as well as the expected contribution of the resumption of small pelagic fishing, following the biological rest period, to strengthening the supply of fish products during Ramadan. Despite these reassuring indicators, the committee stressed the need to maintain vigilance and intensify monitoring efforts. Governors and local authorities were instructed to detect and address any potential disruptions in supply or distribution promptly, enforce laws on pricing, competition, and consumer protection, and strengthen communication with consumers, including by activating complaint-reporting mechanisms.
