DR ‹ › Brazil is preparing for its opening Group Stage match of the 2026 World Cup against Morocco. As part of these preparations, the Seleção has chosen Egypt, another African team, as a friendly opponent. The announcement was made by Egyptian Football Association President Hany Abo Rida, who confirmed that the Brazil–Egypt friendly will take place shortly before the World Cup. Brazil and Morocco have been drawn into Group C, alongside Scotland and Haiti. Morocco will face Brazil in its opening group-stage match on June 13 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. The Atlas Lions will then play Scotland on June 19 at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, in the Boston area of Massachusetts, before concluding the group stage against Haiti on June 24 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia. The 2026 World Cup will be co-hosted by the United States, Mexico, and Canada.
